Namaqua Sweet Rosé is produced by Namaqua Wines, based in the Western Cape region of South Africa. It comes in boxes (5 litres) and bottles (750 ml / 1 L), designed to be an accessible, everyday wine that blends sweetness with bright, juicy fruit character. The vineyards benefit from coastal cooling breezes which help maintain freshness even in warm climates. The wine is fairly light in alcohol and aimed at offering easy drinkability and value.
Tasting Notes:
- Appearance: Soft pink to light rose-salmon hue; looks light and inviting in the glass
- Aroma: Prominent red berry notes—strawberry and watermelon dominate, with subtle floral hints and a touch of muscat sweetness
- Palate: Sweet and fruity—more strawberries, watermelon, maybe a hint of peach or tropical fruit; smooth texture, not heavy
- Finish: Soft and dessert-like; sweetness lingers, with a clean aftertaste and mild acidity that prevents it from feeling cloying
- ABV: ~8.5%
Serving Suggestions: Chill well (around 8-10 °C). Best served on its own, or paired with light fare such as fruit-based desserts, fresh berry salads, grilled salmon, or soft cheeses. Also works well with spicy or Asian dishes that benefit from a sweet counterpoint.
