Mesta Tempranillo Red is a wine from Central Spain (Uclés, Castile). It is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes grown in high-altitude vineyards (700-900m), organically farmed. The wine is unoaked, allowing the true varietal character of Tempranillo to shine—fruit purity, fresh acidity, and herbal complexity. It is medium-bodied and designed to be versatile and approachable, good for everyday drinking as well as pairing with food.
Tasting Notes:
- Appearance: Bright ruby-red with youthful clarity.
- Aroma: Aromas of red berries (strawberry, raspberry, black cherry), fresh herbs like rosemary, and a hint of liquorice.
- Palate: Juicy and fresh; red fruit dominates, with smooth texture, mild tannins, and herbal notes; rounded yet with crisp acidity.
- Finish: Dry, clean, and lingering; fruit fades gently leaving a soft herb-tinged aftertaste.
- ABV: ~14%
Serving Suggestions:
Serve at about 16-18 °C. Pairs well with tapas, grilled meats, tomatoes-based pasta, pizza, or mild cheeses. Also good with roasted vegetables or dishes with herbs.
