Squadron Finest Dark Rum is a blended dark rum combining imported Jamaican rum with local South African spirits. It has been around for over 50 years in its home market. The rum is oak-matured to soften its profile while still retaining strength and boldness.

Appearance: Deep, rich dark brown colour; heavy viscosity, with reddish tone in certain lights

Aroma: Molasses and dark caramel, toasted oak, hints of smoke, sweet vanilla and brown sugar; background note of tropical fruit or overripe banana in some blends

Palate: Bold entry with molasses and treacle, oaky spice, some caramel and vanilla sweetness; mild tropical fruit undertones and warming alcohol

Finish: Long, warm, with lingering oak and sweetness; some bitterness from charred wood, faint smoke and dark sugar remains

Serving Suggestions: Best served over ice or with cola to balance the strength; also works in rum & cola, or dark-rum based cocktails. Can be sipped neat if you like pronounced flavour. Pairs well with spiced or smoky foods, chocolate desserts, or strong cheeses.
