Rocca dei Forti Rosso Dolce is a sweet red sparkling wine (Spumante) from the Marche region of Italy, produced by the Togni winery under the Rocca dei Forti brand. It is made from a blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes. The wine is made using the Charmat (tank) method under controlled temperature, which helps preserve the fresh fruit character and deliver a lively, aromatic wine. Its light alcohol content (approximately 9.5% ABV) makes it ideal for casual and celebratory sipping rather than heavy meals.
Tasting Notes:
- Appearance: Bright, shiny ruby-red; vibrant and inviting with visible fine bubbles (perlage)
- Aroma: Aromas of ripe red fruits — cherries, raspberries, currants; also hints of fruit salad sweetness and mild spice
- Palate: Sweet and fruity; red berry flavours dominate, balanced by a touch of acidity to keep it from being cloying; creamy texture; smooth and gentle mouthfeel
- Finish: Medium-short to moderate; lingering red fruit, mild sweetness, a hint of floral or spice nuance; clean end without harsh tannins
- ABV: ~ 9.5%
Serving Suggestions:
Serve well chilled (around 8-10 °C) to highlight its sparkle and freshness. Excellent with desserts featuring red fruits (berry tarts, chocolate-berry cakes), with cream-based sweets, or with fresh strawberries. Also works well as an aperitif for those who prefer something sweet, or in social settings as a sparkling wine for toasting.
