Napoleon Gold Brandy is a blended brandy widely available in Kenya and East Africa, often produced or imported by brands like London Distillers. It is crafted using a blend of grape distillates, aged with exposure to oak (or oak influences), which imbue it with warm vanilla, spice, and caramel character. Designed to deliver value alongside approachable smoothness, it balances fruit-sweetness and wood aging without being overly heavy or complex. It comes in various sizes (e.g. 250 ml, 750 ml) and at ABVs around 40%.
Tasting Notes:
- Appearance: Deep golden amber, clear, medium-weight legs on the glass
- Aroma: Dried fruit (raisins, prunes), warm oak, vanilla, caramel, subtle brown sugar and a hint of spice
- Palate: Smooth entry, sweet caramel and toffee, with oak-led spice (clove, nutmeg), balanced by mellow fruit tones like dried plums and apples
- Finish: Warm and lingering; the wood and vanilla persist, with a soft sweetness that doesn’t overpower; mild dry oak on the aftertaste
-
ABV: 40 %
Serving Suggestions: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a tulip glass to concentrate aromas, or over one large ice cube (“on the rocks”) if you prefer a cooler, slightly diluted profile. It also works well in classic brandy cocktails (like a Sidecar or brandy with ginger ale) or paired with dark chocolate, nuts, or rich desserts.
